Don’t even hesitate. Bali has the most wonderful, luxurious spa treatments for a fraction of the price you would pay in Europe, Australia or the States. Hotels here boast world class Spas – but alas, the prices are world class too. Either book a spa treatement in your villa or opt for a recommended independant establishment for a charming change. Here are three I have tried.
Body Works, Jalan Kayu Jati No 2, Petitenget Phone 0361 733 317
This popular spa has Balinese flavour and well trained professional therepists. The house special “Sari Ayu Facial” was great and the manicure and pedicure nicely done. It was done all together in the same place, asian style, for an intensive pampering session. The mani and pedi were each around US$10 and the facial under US$15. Call for an appointment.
Cozy Jln. Sunset Blk A #3, Kuta Phone 0361 766 762
The high-tech decor and hustle bustle reception areas (complete with juice bar) quickly give way to relaxation as you put in your earphones of the ipod offered, select your music and lie back on the comfy chairs to close your eyes or watch the fish. Cozy specializes in manicures, pedicures and foot reflexology and they have it down to a delicious science. Competatively priced, it is a firm favourite with local residents. I haven’t tried the massage here, but the reflexology and pedicure was great. Booking ahead is a must.
Glo Jl Kunti 119, Seminyak Phone 0361 766 762
Another place for nice manis and pedis is Glo. I loved the spare minimalist decor, the professional and competant therepists and the great job they did! The traditional Balinese massage was excellent. A thoroughly relaxing experience. Again, do book ahead. I recall that prices were in line with other local spas, but I will reort back when I do next time. There is a Periplus book shop right nearby FYI.
